"I came here as a refugee and wanted to learn English. I studied fully online at Columbia College because I needed to take care of my four children. The grant I received from FAFSA and a scholarship from Columbia College allowed me to study at almost no cost. After graduating and earning a certificate, I landed my first job in the United States.

"I am a recent graduate of the CMT program. It has been the best decision of my life. One of the great things about the Certified Massage Therapy program is that you get to work in the massage clinic. The clinic is something that not all massage schools have, and you actually get hands‑on experience with the public. Everything I have learned here, along with the great opportunities I have received, has really prepared me for the real world. This program takes you beyond basic competency as a massage therapist and gives you a deeper understanding that goes far beyond just massage.

"I knew there was a part of me that longed to be in the beauty industry, so I enrolled in the Columbia College COS course. It was a tough year, but if you have a passion for beauty, you will sail through it with the unwavering support of the Columbia College Cosmetology program. I now work as a stylist at a major franchise salon.

"I enrolled in Columbia College’s DLT program in the summer of 2013, driven by my interest in dental lab technology. I never gave up on my goal or hesitated to change my path. Although I struggled to catch up and it was challenging to get back on track when I resumed my studies, my passion and hard work paid off.
