Independence Day, also known as 4th of July, marks the date in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress. The declaration summarized the country’s motivation for seeking independence from Great Britain.
Today, the United States & Great Britain remain an ally and most Americans still celebrate this day with parades, food, friends and family, and fireworks to end off the night. Celebrate this day as it remains a symbol of national freedom.
