During the recess, we had an award ceremony for best students who deserved to boast of their perfect attendance and best academic achievement. All other students, teachers, and staff members got together in front of the reception desk to congratulate those who were awarded, giving them a big round of applause. A Culinary Arts tasting exam event was held at the classroom on Tuesday, May 20th, hosted by students and instructor of CUA252 Advanced Cooking Theory & Practice B. This event was a part of the college’s culinary arts degree program and planned and prepared by the students currently enrolled in the class as part of their final exam for the Session 2014-II. TEACHERS, WE APPRECIATE YOU! What is Teacher Appreciation Day? National Teacher Appreciation Day known as National Teacher Day is part of the nationally recognized National Teacher Week which is the first week in May, May 4th – 8th 2015 and National Teacher Day is celebrated on the Tuesday of that week. This year, Teacher Appreciation Day 2015 falls on May 5. It began in 1944 to honor teachers and Eleanor Roosevelt convinced the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day in 1953. In 1980, Congress declared National Teacher Day.
ESL students from Fairfax and Silver Spring campuses went on a field trip to Washington D.C. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the students and faculty enjoyed nice spring weather.

Capitol Hill Capitol Hill, the United States Congress, is the largest historic residential neighborhood in Washington D.C.
