All Columbia College students and staff had a great Thanksgiving potluck party today! Special Thanks to Ms. Valerie for being Ms. Elizabeth Hopkins, a pilgrim, and sharing the story about her journey as well as Thanksgiving history, Ms. Mariel’s awesome presentation about the Thanksgiving food, last but not least, thank you for our great host Mr. Michael. Thank you for joining the potluck party and sharing the great food everyone!

We don't have class next Monday, November 11. It's Veterans' Day. Veterans' Day was originally to honor Americans who served in World War I. These days, Veterans Day honors all veterans for their loyalty and willingness to serve in the military and sacrifice for our country.   Here are some places to visit in this occasion. 1. Arlington National Cemetery on November 11, 2013, 11 a.m. * National Veterans' Day service, Visitors should plan to arrive at least a half hour before the ceremony.   2. Columbia College proudly announces the student winners of the 13th Anniversary Hair & Fashion Show on October 16th, 2012. Judges, consisting of Cosmetology faculty and academic staff members, have nominated four ‘Best Hairs’ among so many outstanding works and performances. The winners of the Columbia College’s 13th Anniversary Hair Show are: 1st place: Gaby Nguyen 2nd place: Ivonne Portilla 3rd place: Shahla Ahmedova Best makeup – Mireya Cordero   More exciting hair show will come next year!!!

On October 22nd, 2012, ESL Department held a pumpkin Carving Contest at Columbia College. Thank you all who participated and made a day fun experience! We received over 50 great entries for our 2012 Pumpkin Carving Contest, and now it's time to vote for your favorite pumpkin! There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The 13th Anniversary celebration ended in great success. The event served to discover our students’ astonishing talents. Our ESL Students showed various performances and the Discover Hair & Fashion Show from Cosmetology students was outstanding. Thanks to all the participants and the professors who did great presentation!
