Pumpkin Carving Contest on October 23rd!

Halloween is right around the corner! Make your pumpkin carving masterpiece in the classroom. Open to all ESL students. We’re looking for the best carved pumpkins at Columbia College.   Where? Columbia College When? Tuesday, October 23rd Who? ESL students Have fun, good luck and happy carving! Prizes One Grand Prize winner will be selected by the school staff and instructors who will vote for their favorite. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top winners in each category. The winners will be announced on Halloween day, October 31st, 2012.

We don't have class on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct 14th, 2013. It's perfect time to go to DC to celebrate the day. Christopher Columbus' journey was the most popular voyage in the U.S. history although he was not the first discoverer of America. The Second Monday in October is designated in the United States as Columbus Day. This day commemorates Christopher Columbus' first voyage on October 12th, 1492. Since 1937, Columbus Day as a federal holiday has been officially recognized. Graduation Day

On July 27th, the graduation ceremony for Daegu Health College students was held in auditorium of Columbia College. 10 students from Daegu Health College finished their 3-week ESL course with safe and sound. Each of them presented their experiences on ESL class and field trips. All of them said that they were totally satisfied with their 3-week stay in the U.S. They also got ESL certificate and therapeutic massage certificate.

A Field trip to Washington D.C.

On July 22nd, Daegu Health College students took their 4th field to Washington D.C. This time, they visited Korean Memorial, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial. During the trip, they could know the real power and friendliness of the U.S.

Ten students from Daegu Heath College and two Columbia College staff  went on a field trip to New York City, NY on Saturday, July 22, 2012.  There were guided tours to Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, and Times Square. First, the staff and students took Statue Cruises to go from Battery Park to Liberty Island. The group went inside the Statue of  Liberty to two observation decks.  Then, they went up to the Empire State Observatory and thrilled to the awe-inspiring vision of the city beneath them. An Impressive Trip to Washington DC

On July 20, Daegu Health College students took a second field trip to Washington DC. This time, they visited  National Gallery of Art, The White House, George Washington Univ. and Georgetown and Georgetown Univ. Through this trip, they could know how the USA has become the most powerful and outstanding country in the world.
