This year is the 100th anniversary of the Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival. The epic 5-week spectacular, from March 20 – April 27, 2012, will unify and electrify the city, the nation, and the world. Washington, DC and the region will be abuzz with excitement. Columbia College students will go to the festival on March 20th ~ March 27th (Main Campus: March 21th, 22th, and 27th, Centreville Campus: 22th, Maryland Campus: 20th) This trip will be an EDUCATIONAL trip. It will involve the teachers, who will educate their class on what the Cherry Blossom Festival is, and provide a related assignment.

Columbia College will join cultural tourism DC for the 4th Annual Embassy Chef Challenge: DC's premier international culinary competition. More than a dozen chefs from Washington, DC embassies, representing countries from around the world, compete in this friendly culinary competition. A panel of celebrity chefs and food critics serve as judges throughout the competition and select the Judge's Choice Award.
